Ijaz, Rashid to Appear in Euro Challenge 2012

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation secretary Ijaz ur Rehman and Karachi bowler Rashid ali will leave for France to take part in the Brunswick Euro Challenge 2012 Bowling Championship which is scheduled to be heldin March, Ijaz ur Rehman told this to The Nation on Thursday. he further said that they had plan to organize an international Tenpin Bowling Eventhe scheduled championship was supposed to be held in February this year but due to security situation and persistent US threats, we were left with no other option but to cancel this proposed event for the time being, but the event will definitely take place later this year. "We have contacted Kazakhstan Bowling Federation and they were very kind to us as they accepted our invitation to send their bowlers to Pakistan to participate in an int'l event as soon as Pakistan Sports Board grant us the much long awaited affiliation," Ijaz stated.

"As everybody in fully aware that organising such a prestigious event is not a easy task, the international federation demand assurances regarding the security clearance from government level, how can we give guarantees or assurances to international federations as we are still waiting for Pakistan Sports Board to recognize our services in promotion of bowling in Pakistan," he added.

He said that the proposed championship will be held in April in Islamabad at Megazone Bowling Club, F-9 Park Ijaz has appealed to President Zardari and PM Gillani to kindly look in to their long genuine demand of grant of full affiliation from PSB, who despite being provided all the required documents to PSB but they are not ready to give us our right of affiliation and using different delaying tactics to prolong the process.

Closing Ceremony of Tenpin Bowling Championship 2011

ISLAMABAD - Islamabad Bowlers dominated the Sixth National Bowling Championship by winning three events namely Singles, Team and Armature events while team from Karachi also performed well as they grab the doubles title by eliminating the Islamabad pair of Ali Shah and Malik Faisal in the final with the score of 761 as Islamabad pair finished at 700 and lost by a margin of 61 pins.

In the singles event final Islamabad's bowler Zafar Iqbal got the first position with 367 score and received a cash prize of Rs 50,000 along with a gold medal while Rashid ali from Karachi got second position with 356 score, he received Rs 20,000 rupees and a silver medal, Saleem Baig remained third with 323 score, he was awarded Rs 10,000 cash along with a bronze medal.
In the team event final Islamabad A team beat the experienced Karachi team with the score of 1795 as Karachi were restricted to 1761, in the Armature category Islamabad once gain walk out as the champions by defeating Karachi, Muhammad Inam Khan of Islamabad scored 340 points in two games, while Atta Muhammad of Balochistan could only scored 274 points Karachi's Sadaqat Ali got third position by scoring 267 points.

Second round finished with the following results.

In the Team event category: Islamabad A players Saleem Baig, Khalid Saeed Butt, Zafar Iqbal, Muhammad Hussain Chatta and Ali Shah defeated the Islamabad B team comprising of Ijaz-ur-Rehman, Saqib, Malik, Muhammad and Aftab with a total score of 1787 thus becoming the crowned champions. In the Doubles category Aleem and Rashid got the first position, Malik and Ali Shah finished second while Inam and Aftab got third position, Waleed and Kamran finished at fourth position.
In the Amateur category: Inam from Islamabad got first position with a total score of 340 in two games while Atta Muhammad from Baluchistan remained second with total score of 274 as Sadaqat Ali from Karachi got 269 points and secure third position.

Senator Talha Mehmood, who is the also the also the Chairman of Senate Standing Committee on Interior was the chief guest on the occasion, while speaking at the prize distribution ceremony Talha said, I am very thankful to Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation Secretary Ijaz-ur-Rehman who has given me the honor to be the guest of the honor, he appreciated the performance of the players and said, winning or loosing doesn't matter the thing that matters most is how you perform and the sports must be played in true sprit.

Senator Talha slammed Pakistan Sports Board for denying the Tenpin Bowling Federation of their due right of affiliation despite fulfilling all the legal obligations and said, I will talk with the concerned persons and assured his all-out support to the federation in this regard.

Talha said, it is quite unjustified act of PSB not to give affiliation to Tenpin Bowling Federation who have already got the same from all the world organizations. He said, Bowling is getting popularity with each passing day in the country and Pakistani bowlers have done the country proud by achieving more than satisfactory results in the international events.

Later Senator Talha Mehmood distributed prizes and medals among the players and announced a cash incentive of rupees fifteen thousand for the Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation as a token of appreciation tot heir achievements and promised to be always available when ever the federation requires him.

Opening Ceremony of Tenpin Bowling Championship 2011

The sixth Tenpin Bowling championship was formally inaugurated by Hanif Abbasi, by throwing the ball on Thursday  at Islamabad Mega Zone Bowling Club. A toral of over 100 players from all over the country are participated in the event.
Speaking at the occasion Paksitan Tenpin Bowling Federation secretary Ijaz ur Rehman detailed the efforts made by federation since the foundation of the federation some 8 years back. He said that Paksitan name is included amongst the 122 countries where Tenpin Bowling is players. We have faced many challenges and specially Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has made life miserable for us we have been given the affiliation by all the major world tenpin federations but to the surprise and utter disappointment, the PSB is not ready to give us affiliation despite we have given them all the required documents and fulfilled their set criteria.
He further said that next year top ten players will be sent abroad to take part in the international championship at the federation expenses and top bowlers would also be given central contracts next year.
Speaking at the occasion chief guest M. Haneef Abbasi thanked the federation for inviting him and lauded the efforts of the federation and said such activities would help the youth to indulge themselves in healthy activities and help them from falling in the hands of terrorists groups.
He Promised the federation to help them in constructing a bowling alley in Rawalpindi and said that he would talk to the CM Punjab in this regard He promised his all out support to the federation in holding of a planned international event next year in Karachi where about 40 countries are expected to participate.
Abbasi also promised to help resolving the long standing is sue of affiliation with PSB very soon.

6th Tenpin Bowling Championship 2011

Secretary General Tenpin Bowling Federation Ejaz-ur-Rehman Talking to the media on Thursday said that Pakistani players are much talented and have the potential to play at international level and may well enlighten the name of our beloved country in the world., he announce that 6th National Tenpin Bowling Championship 2011 will start from 27th October and will end on 29th October 2011 in which players from all the four provinces will participate. The Secretary General also said that this tournament is organized to promote bowling in Pakistan and provide a platform to the bowlers for preparing themselves for playing at international level. The event will be categorized in single, double, team event,And Amateur Category.

Ejaz-ur-Rehman said bowling is flourishing day by day in Pakistan.The Championship will be held at Megazone Bowling Club, F-9/ Fatima Jinnah Park Islamabad 10 Lanes Bowling Alley.As PTBF is striving hard to promote bowling in Pakistan by organizing different championships regularly throughout the year and 6th National Tenpin Bowling Championship is also one of these championships. The Purpose of this championship is to promote Bowling game in Pakistan and conquer the youngsters who will move ahead and take participate in International Championships and bring fame for Pakistan. In the championship, in Singles Event, Cash prize of Rs. 50,000/-, 25,000/- 15,000/ and 5,000/- along with  Medals will be awarded to 1st , 2nd, 3rd and 4th Position holders respectively. While in Doubles Event Cash Prize of Rs. 20,000/- and 10,000/- with Medals will be given to 1st and 2nd position holders. In Team Event Cash Prize Rs. 30,000/- with Medals, will be awarded to 1st position holders. In Amateur Event, Cash prize of Rs. 10,000/-, 5,000/- and 3,000/-along with Medals will be awarded to 1st  , 2nd and 3rd  position holders.
The Opening ceremony of the championship will be held on 27th October 2011 at Megazone Bowling Club, Islamabad at 4.00 pm or 16.00 hours.

Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation gets affiliation

LAHORE, Sept 19 (APP): Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation has got affiliation with World Bowling Association,Asian bowling federation and Commonwealth bowling Federation. Ijaz-ur-Rehman,Secretary, PTBF said on Monday that it was a big honour for Pakistan that national bowling federation has got affiliation with three major bodies of the world.
“It is very important day in Pakistan’s bowling history as we put in a lot of hardwork and efforts for the uplift of the game and eventually our efforts were recognised by these bodies by granting us affiliation “,he said.     
He expressed his gratitude to Secretary,FIQ, Addie Ophelders, President of Asian Bowling Federation, Talal al-Sabah and leader of World Tenpin Bowling Association Kevin Dornberger for granting affiliation to Pakistan.
“Bowling is getting rapid popularity in Pakistan and our national team is regularly participating in international events abroad and we are confident of a bright future of this sport in our country “,he added.
“So far we have organised five national bowling championships at home besides participation of our team in major international meets and we will continue our struggle for the cause of bowling in Pakistan through a comprehensive activity plan “,he said.

Event Report : 3rd Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Tenpin Bowling Championship 2011.

 The 3rd Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Tenpin Bowling Championship 2011 which will be held from 15th to 17th July 2011 at Megazone Bowling Club, F-9/ Fatima Jinnah Park, Islamabad told Muhammad Shuja Khan, President Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation, Ijaz Ur Rehman, General Secretary, Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation and Chaudhary Saleem , Director Sports, CDA in their joint statement while talking to Media Sports Reporters.
President Muhammad Shuja Khan said that Federation is striving hard to promote bowling in Pakistan by organizing different championships regularly throughout the year and 3rd Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Tenpin Bowling Championship is also one of these championships. Federation has organized two Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Tenpin Bowling Championship so far and while third Championship is being organized. The Purpose of this championship is to give tribute to the personality of our great leader Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed and his unforgettable services for Pakistan.
In the championship, in Singles Event, Cash prize of Rs. 50,000/-, 25,000/- and 15,000/- along with Trophies will be awarded to Ist, 2nd and 3rd Position holders respectively. While in Doubles Event Cash Prize of Rs. 25,000/- and 15,000/- with Trophies will be given to 1st and 2nd position holder. In Media Event Cash Prize Rs. 7,000/- with Trophy, 3,500/- cash money with trophy and 2,000/- cash money with trophy will also be awarded to Ist, 2nd and 3rd Position holders respectively.
The Opening ceremony of the championship will be held on 15th July 2011 at Megazone Bowling Club, Islamabad at 6.00 pm or 18.00 hours

Rashid wins Tenpin Bowlings gala

ISLAMABAD – Rashid Ali claimed the title of 3rd Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Tenpin Bowling Championship 2011 after scoring top position in the Men’s event at F-9 Park Bowling Club on Sunday late night.
In the Men’s Single event, Rashid Ali from Karachi displayed excellent skills of the game and earned first position with grand total of 3250 points in 8 games competitions. His average score remained 180.56 per game. Zafar Iqbal from Islamabad followed him (Rashid) to get second position with the narrow difference of 9 scores. He knocked total 3241 points with average 180.06.
Mohamamd Aleem Agha, who was also from Karachi, secure 3rd position with total score of 3226 points with the average score 179.22 in 18 games affairs. Rashid Ali was awarded with cash prize Rs.50,000 along with winner trophy. Zafar Ali pocketed Rs.25,000 along with runner-up trophy. MOhamamd Aleem Agha received Rs.15, 000 cash award and trophy.
Meanwhile, in the Men’s Doubles hosts’ outfits stunned of the competitors and lifted the trophy by showing excellent form through out the competition. Mohammad Hussain Chatta and Mohammad Zafar both from Islamabad secured 1st position with aggregated score of 1170 points. They colleted Rs.20, 000 cash awards and gold medals. Mohammad Ali Shah and Faisal Malik got second position with grand total of 1094 points. They earned cash prize Rs.15, 000 and silver medals.
In the deaf event, Adnan Ghani with total 649 points got 1st position while Ghazanfar Ali remained second with 519 points. Mohammad Bilal secured 3rd position with total score of 519 points. They received gold, silver and bronze medals respectively.
At the end, chief guest Shah Jehan Khan, Personal Secretary, Chief Minister, Khyber Pakhtunkhawa distributed the prizes, trophies and medals amongst the top player

1st PTBF Ranking Bowling Tournament 2011.

 Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation in collaboration with Royal Rodale Club  organized an astounding All Pakistan ranking  bowling Tournament title 1st PTBF Ranking Bowling Tournament 2011 ever in the history of Pakistan to dispense proper ranking to the bowlers of Pakistan at Alley’s Blue of Royal Rodale Club DHA, Karachi. The tournament started 27th of April and ended on 30th of April 2011 at Royal Rodale Club leaving some sweet memories in the minds of players came to participate in this Mega event from different cities of Pakistan.     
1st PTBF Ranking Bowling Tournament 2011 became the reason make all bowling players from all over Pakistan to compete among each other in order to analyze their skills. Our aim is to promote bowling in each city of Pakistan and to make popular this game among   all stages of people like men, women and children as well. We are striving to produce quality players that could participate in the international championships and thus enlighten the name of their country all over the world. So this ranking bowling tournament is platform for our local players to show their skills and prove themselves capable for international championships.    
Apart from that PTBF is now planning to bring International Coaches to Pakistan to polish the efforts and game play with modern techniques and effective guidance of the dedicated national bowling sportsmen to become internationally competitive.
The tournament continued  from 27th – 30th April 2011 at Royal Rodale Club under Single Masters, Open Singles, Double Team, Trios Team and 4-Player Team categories.  Players from different cities of Pakistan participated in the tournament comprises of 32 Single Masters, 15 double teams, 10 trios team, and 8, 4-Player Team. Most competitive players who participated in this tournament are Farhan Manyia, Fazi Maniya, Yousaf Maniya, Shabbir Lashkarwala, Usman Ghani, Naeem Ibrahim, Ahmed Shakhani, Aleem Agha, Nasim Ahmed, Faraj Ahmed, Frahan Riaz, Abid Ahmed, Khawaja Ahmed, Robert Shangara, Zahid Mehmood, Asghar Rangoonwala, Junaid Khan, Kazim Raza, Saleem Baig, Ijaz Ur Rehman, Muhammad Hussain Chatta, S M Ali Shah, Rashid Ali, Zafar Iqbal, Afzal Akhtar, Faisal Malik, Faizan Tariq, Ahmer Abbas Saldera, Muhammad Imran and Muhammad Arsalan etc.     
Single Master Category, In Single Master Competition Shabbir Lashkerwala retained the tournament title by winning the Single Master Category with 375 points after having a cutthroat final in which the result was dependant on the final strike by top seed Mr. Ijaz Ur Rehman of Islamabad Tenpin Bowling Association, who scored 356 points. Shabbir needed to win 2 games and Ejaz ur Rehman required a single match but still the champion proved the wining status. Mr. Fazil Maniya secured 3rd Position by dropping down 160 pins.
Singles Open Category, In single open event 32 players had participated. Each played 18 games. Ijaz Ur Rehman from Islamabad and Fazil Maniya from Karachi both scored 3386 pins with average of 188.11 pins. According to the rules and regulations set out in the tournament Fazil Maniya has been declared winner of Open Singles and Ijaz Ur Rehman thus stood at 2nd Position. Usman Ghani stand at 3rd position by knocking down 3380 pins with average score of 187.78.      

Double Team Category, In Doubles competition there were 15 Doubles. Each player of Doubles played 3 games and thus each Doubles team played 6 games. Farhan Maniya and Fazil Maniya team got Ist position by dropping down 1187 total pin and individually 589 and 598 scores respectively. Faisal Malik and S M Ali Shah obtained 2nd Position by individually 567 and 529 pinfalls respectively with a total of 1096 scores. Ahmed Shakhani and Aleem Agha secured 3rd Position with 1089 total pins and 583, 506 respectively individually pin falls.          
Trios Team Category, In Trios competition 10 Trios team with 30 players showed their bowling skills. Each player of Tripod played 3 games and thus 9 total games. A tripod of Farhan Maniya, Fazil Maniya & Yousuf Maniya was the Winners with total pin falls of 1570 and average 174.44 leading from Shabbir Lashkerwala, Usman Ghani & Naeem Ibrahim’s tripod, who were the runners-up with total score of 1525 pins and average 169.44 pins. Ahmed Shaikhani, Aleem Agha & Naseem Ahmed obtained the 3rd Position and they knocked down 1478 total pins with average pins of 164.22
4-Players Team Category, In 4-Players competition eight 4-Players Teams with 32 players participated to show their best. Each player played 3 games and thus each 4-players team played 12 games. A team of Saleem Baig, Ijaz ur Rehman,  Zafar Iqbal & M. H. Chatta proud and senior players of Islamabad Bowling Association outclassed rest of the participating teams of the tournament and secured 1st Position by scoring combined total 2170 points. They individually made 530,582,504,554 scores respectively and thus dropped down 2170 total pins.  The Team of Zahid Mehmood,  Shahjahan Bhatti, Robert Shanghara & Faizan Tariq were the Runners-up with a close difference with the position holders with score of 2166 points leaving  far behind the group of  Farhaj Ahmed, Abid Ahmed, M. Arsalan & Farhan Riaz who dropped down 2062 pins in total and stood at 3rd position.
 All Events Highest Scorer  
Ijaz Ur Rehman had made highest score in all events category with total 6029 pins dropping down and secured Ist Position. Fazil Maniya with 6174 score and Usman Ghani with 6035 score remain at 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
Further to build and promote peace and healthy relations in between India and Pakistan  we have also scheduled India-Pakistan Tournament in near future to witness the status of our players playing against international team and to communicate the message of brotherhood & peace among both nations, said Ijaz Ur Rehman, General Secretary, Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation.
By summing up, I would say that I (Mushtaq Ahmed, Joint Secretary, Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation) am very glad and thankful to all the players who came to participate from different cities of Pakistan to make this tournament successful and especially to Mr. Asghar Rangoonwala, CEO/ Managing Director, Royal Rodale Club and his team for their support and cooperation for organizing such a superb tournament.

Karachi won Gold Medal in 14th Sindh Games 2011 in Tenpin Bowling - Finals & Prizes Distribution Ceremony

Sindh Tenpin Bowling Association geared the winning progress of bowling in Sindh by successfully organizing Tenpin Bowling Event in 14TH Sindh Games 2011, under the auspices of Sindh Olympic Association at Area 51- Bowling Alley from 1st to 3rd April, 2011. Over 50 Athletes from all over the Sindh participated under Amateur and Master Category along with 10 Double Team and 5 Symbolic District Teams. Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah (Minister of Sports, Government of Sindh), a renowned sports admirer and a promising Minister of Sports Department enhanced the prestige of the award ceremony with his presence and witnessed Finals with keen interest.

TEAM EVENT: Karachi won Medal (Mr. as Captain, Mr.Khawaja Ahmed Mustaqeen, Mr.Shabbir Lashkerwala, Mr. Irfan Mazhar, Mr.Kamran Mughal and Mr.Abrar)  813pts. the Silver Medal was obtained by Hyderabad ( Captain Mr. Sarim Kazim, Mr.Shahjahan & Mr.Farhaj Ahmed) by dropping down 779 pins in total Sukher secured Bronze Medal, (Mr. Usman Ghani as Captain, Mr. Zahid Mahmood, Mr.Abid Ahmed, & Mr.Arsalan Mughal) with a combined total of 731 pts, in Team event

DOUBLES:  After the aggressive game play  Shabir Lashkarwala & Usman Ghani  proved their metals by secured Gold Medal (723 pts). The Silver Medal was obtained by Zahid Mahmood & Shahjahan Bhatti by scoring pts 689 pts.  The Silver Medal was secured by Mr. Aleem Agha & Mr. M. Ahmed Shaikhani  by scoring 688 pts

MASTERS SINGLES: Ahmed Shaikhani (Winner) with 382 points, Naseem Ahmed (Runners up) with 370 pts & Usman Ghani (3rd position) with 369 were leading champions in Masters Single. Rashid Ali was titled as the Highest Scorer  236.

AMETEUR SINGLES:  faizan Tariq  (Winner) with 358 pts, Arsalan Mughal (Runners up) with 357 pts , & Irfan Manzar (3rd position) with 312 pts ruled the tournament in Amateur Single. Faizan Tariq was titled for a top scorer 214.

The players were awarded with the prestigious medals and trophies. Senior Vice President- Mr. Aleem Agha, Vice President- Vice President of STBA, Mr. Muhammad Amin Nasir and General Secretary Mr. Ch. Muhammad Ali (Romis Ali) Distributed souvenirs to guest. The well managed events remained the catch of media through number of channels for significant support.

Minister of Sports was briefed thoroughly about the ongoing activities of STBA and significant development in bowling took place in Sindh. Romis Ali, General Secretary STBA thanked the Minister for his interest in this sport and assured him that the Association, with the assistance of Ministry of Sports, shall enrich the Bowling Sport within Sindh to a world class level.

Organizer, Romis Ali, General Secretary Sindh Tenpin Bowling Association & Joint Secretary of Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation, speaking at the occasion stated that “The code of conduct and legitimacy of STBA has made the Bowling a progressive sport in the region and provided the consistency to retain its position in the winning circle. We are making all possible efforts to hear the dropping Pins in every District of Sindh by  getting sports areas approved for bowling alleys and installing professional lanes. The representation from Interior Sindh still haven’t left behind with the participation of players whose passion for bowling drags them down to Karachi Bowling Alleys all the way long from their residency

1st PTBF Ranking Bowling Tournament will start from 27th April, 2011 @ Royal Rodale Club, DHA Karachi

1st PTBF Ranking Bowling Tournament 2011 will be held from 27th to 30th April 2011 at Royal Rodale Club, Karachi. Apart from Teams of four provinces, a team of Tenpin bowlers from Islamabad will also take part in this event.
Muhammad Shuja Khan, President, Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation & Provincial Minister for Food, KPK and Ijaz Ur Rehman, General Secretary, Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation told while talking to media reporters that much talent of tenpin bowlers can be seen in Pakistan. They wished INSHALLAH a day will come in the history of Pakistan when Federation may well enlighten the name of Pakistan in this sport across the world like other sports.  Due to its utmost efforts, Federation waved Pakistani Flag high at many occasion in International championships all over the world.   
This tournament will be played by adopting international standards and rules. Top ten players will also be selected from this tournament based on their performances for Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Team, they further told.
Competitions of Single, Doubles, Trios and Team event will be held in this tournament.  PAKISTAN MASTER BOWLER will also be selected or chosen from all event competitions.     

Cash Prize money of 300,000 (Three Hundred Thousands), Medals and Trophies will be distributed amongst the successful/ position holder players of this tournament.

The purpose of organizing this tournament is not only to promote tenpin bowling in Pakistan but also comes up with new talent of bowling of Pakistan and further to assign ranking to bowlers of Pakistan.

Chief Guests of this tournament will be the Federal and Provincial Ministers of Pakistan, they added further.

Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation has completed all arrangements to participate in 21st Asian Tenpin Bowling Championship 2011 to be held in Khalifa Bowling Club, Abu Dhabi.

President, Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation & Provincial Minister for Food Khyber Pakhtunkhawa,Muhammad Shuja Khan told while talking to Media Sports reports that Pakistan Bowling Team completed all necessary arrangements to participate in 21st Asian Tenpin Bowling Championship 2011.

He further told that Asian Tenpin Bowling Championship which is considered as Asian ranking, Pakistani Team is participating in this event first time in the moment of its history. He told that this is outcome of Federations’ efforts and struggles. He further expressed that not only Federation enlighten the name of our country at international levelbut will also wave Pakistani Flag in year 2011 at Asia level. He told that all the players are physically fit and by showing their best performances INSHALLAH will enlighten the name of nation and country as well.

The National bowling team comprises of Ijaz ur Rehman, Saleem Baig, Muhammad Hussain Chatta, Sultan Durrani, Omer Khalid, Faisal Aziz, Khalid Saeed Butt and Team Manager Ijaz ududin Shaikh, he further added.

Pakistan players will compete in the event of Single, Doubles and Team event competitions in 21st Asian Tenpin Bowling championship 2011.

21’st Asian tenpin bowling championship will start at Abu Dhabi’s kalifa bowling club from 14th January 2011.In which teams of china Egypt , Hongkong , Iran ,Malaysia, Qatar, Singapore ,Thailand ,UAE,Pakistan ,India and Indonesia will participate and they will play.
The president of Pakistan tenpin bowling federation and Minister of food Khyber Pakhtoon khwa“Muhammad Shuja Khan “told while taking to media that the national team of Pakistan consist on Saleem baig, Ijaz-ur-rehman,Khalid saeed Butt,Muhammad Hussain chatta,Sultan Durani ,Faisal Rizvi and Umar.While official team manager is Ijaz_uddin sheikh.
He told that the players of our national team are very excited and INSHAALLAH will earned good name by playing their best.
Different countries will participate in tournaments of tenpin bowling federation 2011.and all tournaments of schedule 2011 that all held in Pakistan will announced in February. Because of Pakistan tenpin bowling federation ,the name of Pakistan has been appeared in the game of bowling and very soon the game of bowling ,like other game, will appeared before the world.
There will be a competition between single double and team Event in Asian championship The officials of Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation will also participate in a meeting of Asian Bowling Federation general assembly Meeting ,In which all countries of Asia will be included.

An ample story of 5th National Tenpin Bowling Championship 2010

Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation organizes National Tenpin Bowling Championship ever year. In last week of December 2010, Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation organized the 5th National Tenpin Bowling Championship which was held from 24th -26th December at Mega Zone Bowling Club, F-9, Fatima Jinnah Park, Islamabad.
The opening or inauguration ceremony of 5th National Tenpin Bowling Championship was held on 24th December 2010 at 4.00 pm. at Mega Zone Bowling Club, F-9, Fatima Jinnah Park, Islamabad.
Brig(R) Arif Siddiqui, President, Islamabad Olympic Association was the Chief Guest of the occasion. Hafiz Rashid, Senator, Mr. Ijaz ur Rehman, General Secretary, Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation, Agha Amjadullah, Director Facilities, Pakistan Sports Board, Mr. Faik Ali Chachar, Director (PR & MM), Pakistan Sports Board, Mr. Muhammad Asghar Rangoonwala, Managing Director, Royal Rodale Club from Karachi, People from social societies and players from four provinces were also present in the opening ceremony. Reporters & TV Anchor from print and electronic media were also there to cover and report every moment of the opening ceremony and rest of the days of the championship.

The opening started with recitation of Holy Quran. Mr. Sajid Mehmood recited some verses from Holy Quran. Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed Panni, Media Secretary, Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation was the stage secretary of the ceremony.

Then Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed articulated his views about the future prospective of the Federations and its activities for promoting bowling in Pakistan and abroad as well. He in his speech delivered that like other games of the world bowling is also an ancient game of the world. Because it was played in ancient times, as in 1930 an Anthrologist found some pins & balls from a grave in Turkey which was 2300 BC Old.
He expressed that Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation endeavoring for flourishing and promoting bowling in Pakistan by organizing different kinds of championships and tournaments throughout the year and this 5th championship is also one of these championships. He ends his speech by saying that whether Government supports us or not, the Federation will continue its efforts and struggles for flourishing and promoting bowling in Pakistan.

Then Senator, Hafiz Rashid delivered his speech on the importance of games. He said that Islam does not bind any body not to play games and proved this by giving some examples from “Hadith”.

After that, Mr. Ijaz ud din Sheikh expressed his deep concerned on the technicalities and rules of the bowling.
At last, Brig(R) Arif Siddiqui, President, Islamabad Olympic Association delivered his views on the bowling and its importance. He then threw the first ball of the game.
In the 5th Championship, single, Doubles, Team Event and Media Event competitions were held.
Team Event Competition was firstly played. In this competition, teams from four provinces had participated. Aleem Agha, Naseem Ahmed Qureshi, Rashid Ali, Mehmood Ahmed were included in the Ist team, Saleem Baig, Ijaz ur Rehman, Sajid Mehmood and Muhammad Hussain Chattah were included in the 2nd Team. Khalid Saeed Butt, Saqib Shehzad, Afzal Akhter and Faisal Malik were included in 3rd Team. Farooq, Atta Muhammad, Fahim and Ahmed were included in 4th Team while Asghar Rangoon Wala, Janet, Shahzad and Aftab were in 5th team.
In the first round, the first team knocked down 1386 total combined pins, the second team 1436 total combined pins, third team 1306 total combined pins, fourth team 1185 total combined pins and fifth team 1238 total combined pins. Best three teams qualified for the second round on the basis of total combined score. Then second and final round was played amongst 1st team, 2nd team and 3rd team. In final round, first team scored total 1408 combined pins and stood at Ist position; second team scored 1396 pins and stood at 2nd position while third team scored 1322 pins. Ist position holding team consisting of Aleem Agha, Naseem Ahmed Qureshi, Rashid Ali, Mehmood Ahmed were awarded Cash prize Rs. 20,000 and Gold medals while the 2nd position holding team consisting of Saleem Baig, Ijaz ur Rehman, Sajid Mehmood and Muhammad Hussain Chattah were awarded Silver Medals.

In Doubles Event Competition, first round was played by 24 players. Two games were played by each player. Saleem Baig and Ijaz ur Rehman dropped down total 762 combined pins, Atta Muhammad & Farooq 564 total combined pins, Khalid Butt & Zafar 674 total combined pins, Nasim Ahmed & Mehmood 689 total combined pins, Adnan & Fahim 620 total combined pins, Aftab & Shahzad 611 total combined pins, Ahmed & Malik 640 total combined pins, Sajid Mehmood & Muhammad Hussain Chattah 744 total combined pins, Mani & Farhan 671total combined pins, Janet & Asghar 532 total pins, Saqib & Afzal 592 total pins and while Aleem Agha & Rashid Ali fall down 707 total combined pins. One Doubles was eliminated from each group of players. As a result only 12 players or 6 Doubles qualified for the second and semifinal round. In this round two games were given to each player. Sajid & Chatta ended games on 791 total pins, Ijaz & Saleem ended games on 805 total pins, Aleem & Rashid ended games on 720 total pins, Naseem & Mehmood ended games on 702 total pins, Adnan & Fahim ended games on 576 total pins and Saqib & Afzal ended games on 587 total pins. Only 6 players or 3 Doubles qualified for the final round. In the final round each player also played two games. Aleem Agha & Rashid Ali secured Ist position by knocking down together 829 pins, Saleem Baig, Ijaz ur Rehman secured 2nd position by knocking down together 799 pins, Saqib Shehzad & Afzal Akhter secured 3rd position by knocking down together 666 pins. Aleem Agha & Rashid Ali from Karachi both were given Winner Cash prize Rs.25, 000 & Trophy and while Ijaz ur Rehman & Saleem Baig from Islamabad both were awarded with Runner-up Cash prize Rs. 15,000 & Trophy.

In the final round Rashid Ali knocked down total 536 pins with average of 268 and stood at Ist position, Ijaz ur Rehman Knocked down 514 pins with average of 257 and stood at 2nd Position, Aleem Agha Knocked down 485 pins with average of 243 and stood at 3rd Position and while Naseem Ahmed Qureshi Knocked down 465 pins with average of 233 and stood at 4th position.
Rashid Ali was awarded with Cash prize of Rs. 50,000 & Trophy, Ijaz ur Rehman was awarded with Cash prize Rs. 30,000 & Trophy, Aleem Agha was given Rs. 10,000 & Trophy and finally Naseem Ahmed Qureshi was given a trophy for holding the 4th position.
Muhammad Hussain Chatta made 259 score which is the highest score of the tournament in a game. He was awarded with a Gold Medal for its outstanding performance.
Some other amateur Gold Medals and Shields were also given to the players, sponsors and Chief Guest. Janet was awarded a Gold Medal as she was the only female bowler in the tournament. Khalid Saeed Butt was given a amateur Gold Medal and Shield for sponsoring the championship. Mr. Ashar Rangoon Wala was also given a amateur Gold Medal and Shield for sponsoring the championship.

The prize distribution ceremony of 5th National Tenpin Bowling Championship was held on 26th December 2010 at 6.00 pm. at Mega Zone Bowling Club, F-9, Fatima Jinnah Park, Islamabad.

Mr. Mehfooz Elahi, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry was the Chief Guest of the Prize distribution ceremony of 5th National Tenpin Bowling Championship 2010. Mr. Taufiq Zaman, Vice President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Mr. Ijaz ur Rehman, General Secretary, Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation, Ijaz uddin Shaikh, Manager, Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation Mr. Muhammad Asghar Rangoonwala, Managing Director/CEO, Royal Rodale Club from Karachi, People from social societies and players from four provinces were also present in the opening ceremony. At last, Mushtaq Ahmed ended the closing/prize distribution of 5th National Tenpin Bowling championship 2010 by thanking to the Chief Guest and all other participants.

Rashid won 5th National Championship tenpin bowling Championship 2010.

Karachi outclassed rest of the participating teams in all categories of 5th National Ten Pin Bowling Championship by winning singles, doubles and team events respectively.

Pakistan Ten Pin Bowling Federation organized 5th National Ten Pin Bowling Championship in Islamabad Mega Zone Bowling Club. Singles, Doubles, Team and media event competitions were held here in Islamabad.

In doubles event, Aleem Agha and Rashid Ali with combined total score of 829 secured the first position while Saleem Baig and Ijaz Ur Rehman with combined total score of 799 held the second place event in the doubles category. Winner of the doubles event Aleem and Rashid were given Rs 25000 cash with the winning trophy; on the contrary Ijaz and Saleem were given Rs 15000 cash plus runners up trophy.

In team event competition, Aleem Agha , Naseem Ahmed Qureshi, Rashid Ali and Mahmood Ahmed from Karachi won the finals with a total of 1408 against Saleem Baig, Ijaz Ur Rehman, Mohammad Hussain Chuttha and Sajid Mahmood from Islamabad who were only able to make 1396 to secure second position respectively. Karachi team was awarded Rs 2000 cash plus a Gold medal while Islamabad team was given Silver medal for finishing second in the championship.

In Singles category, Rahid Ali from Karachi secured the top position and was awarded Rs 50000 cash plus a trophy. Ijaz Ur Rehman was given Rs 30000 cash and a trophy for securing the second position while Aleem Agha stood at third place.

Media event was also held during the championship here at Islamabad Mega Zone Bowling Club which was won by Haroon Siddiqi from Dunya Tv, Haroon was awarded Rs 5000 cash plus trophy, Shahryar Khan from Express News stood second with just a margin of one score. Haroon scored 99 while Shahreyar was on 98 at the end of media category event.

Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federations officials organized a two day bowling coaching session for the youth bowlers of Royal Rodale Club where Mr. Francis De Leon from Philippine who trained these children how to hook the ball and its basic know how.

It is always good to train children from the grass root level. Soon Royal Rodale will arrange another session of training. Also we are planning to have a pro shop where these children can get their reactive balls and other instruments for bowling..

5th National Tenpin Bowling Championship 2010 is starting from 24th December, 2010 at Mega Zone Bowling Club, F-9 at Fatima Jinnah Park, Islamabad.

President Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation and Provincial Minister for Food, Khyber Pakhtoon Khawa, Muhammad Shuja Khan and General Secretary, Ijaz ur Rehman both in join statement addressing the press conference declared that Pakistani players are much talented and have the potential to play at international level and may well enlighten the name of our beloved country in the world.

They further expressed that today at 3.00 p.m., they jointly announce that 5th National Tenpin Bowling Championship 2010 will start from 24th to till end on 26th December, 2010 (3 days). Players from four provinces of Pakistan are expected to take part in the event. The purpose of organizing this tournament is to promote bowling in Pakistan and providing the platform to the bowlers for preparing their selves for playing at international level. In this tournament event of Singles, Doubles, Team Event and Super 4 Event will be categorized.

Muhammad Shuja Khan, President Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation further expressed that in Single Event Category, Trophies and Cash Prizes will be awarded to the players for getting Ist, 2nd and 3rd positions. Rs. 50,000 & trophy for Ist position holder, Rs. 30,000 & trophy for 2nd position holder and Rs. 20,000 & trophy for 3rd position holder. Further Rs. 5,000 will be given to the player for highest score. In Doubles Event category, Cash prize Rs. 30,000 & trophy for Ist position holder and Rs. 20,000 & trophy for 2nd position holder will be given. In Team Event category, Cash prize Rs. 30,000 & Gold Medal for the team holding first position and while Cash prize Rs. 10,000 & Gold Medal for team holding 2nd position. In Super ‘4 Event category, where best four players from the four provinces teams will be elected and Cash prize Rs.150, 000 will be given to the player holding Ist position from them. And Gold Medals to all team players. In Media Event, cash prize Rs. 2,000 & trophy while cash prize Rs.1,000 & trophy will be awarded to the Ist and 2nd position holders respectively.

Bowling is flourishing day by day in Pakistan, and we feel proud that two Pakistani players are taking part in Qatar open Championship and will proudly enlighten their country name. These two players also paid themselves for coaching from International Academy. Siddique’s highest score in bowling is 298 and while Majid’s highest score is 271. We firmly believe that these two players will hold giant position in the tournament and enlighten the name of their country and nation as well.

By addressing the press conference, ijaz ur Rehman, General Secretary of the Federation said that if Government does not help and supports us, we in that case will also enlighten the name of our country. Intention to participate in 21st Asian Tenpin Bowling Championship 2011 at Abu Dhabi of our players is ready proof of it. Saleem Baig and Ijaz ur Rehman, Muhammad Siddique, Majid Saeed, and Sultan Durani will represent Pakistan in the event.

He further expressed that our Neighbor country is fully supporting the bowling in their country while efforts of Pakistani Government for promoting bowling exist no longer and less.

Two Pakistani Bowlers will Show their Skill In Qatar International Open Bowling Tournament 2010.

Two Pakistani players Muhammad Siddique and Majid Ali will show their class in two different disciplines of the Qatar International Open Bowling Championship 2010 which will begin from December 11th to 19th at Qatar.

Secretary Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation (PTBF) Ijazur Rehman informed reporters here on Saturday that the federation sent its two players singles and mixed double categories of the event.

He said that around 180 bowlers from 60 countries would fight for the top honours during the eight-day international bowling showpiece. “Our players are confident and willing to produce notable performance in the international competitions,” he said.

Ijaz further said that Pakistan had also participated in this 45th edition of the World Tenpin Bowling Championship in 2009 and the boys did well in Malaysia. “We have great talent but there is a need to polish that to spark at the international level,” he added. “. The players from all over the world will compete in the singles, doubles, masters, trios and team event fixtures,” he said. Qatar International Open Bowling Tournament will be played from 11-19 December 2010, the tournament is approved by Qatar Bowling Federation, ABF and WTBA and is open to Players from all WTBA member federations, this will be third in a row tournament with EBT (European Bowling Tour) ranking system and is EBT 2011-22 / Platinum. The tournament category is singles mixed and women will have 8 pins handicap (per game).

Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation is endeavoring to promote Bowling Sport not even at various cities of Pakistan also exposure of team at International events.

Our Two bowlers are plying bowling since 2007 and attend many events, which were held in Qatar. They had been participated in many Company leagues where he obtained men high game with the score of 271. His average is 195 and he is trying his best not even maintain his score also to enhance his score to take to the professional level to enable himself to raise Pakistani beloved flag in all over the world.

PTBF is proud to say that our Pakistani players are playing in abroad and representing Pakistan in high potential Enthusiasm.

Qatar International Bowling Open Bowling Tournament – 2010 will take place on 11th of December till 19 of December 2010. More than 30 countries are participating. In which Pakistan name will also be included. Mohammad Siddiq & Majid are Both Pakistani Player who will take part in this International event and show his performance.

1st Ranking League session “Sindh InterLeague Bowling Tournament 2010".

The memorable evening got over with auspicious finals and award ceremony of 1st Ranking League session “Sindh InterLeague Bowling Tournament 2010” in the history of bowling in Pakistan at Thunder pins, Millennium Mall organized by honorary Sindh Tenpin Bowling Association (STBA) under patronage of Sindh Sport Board.
Over 50 players participated in Masters & Amateur Category and 6 Teams played in the tournament. Top Seed Shabbir Lashkarwala became the first man to win the coveted Sindh Interleague Bowling Tournament 2010 by scoring avg 181 and defeated Rashid Ali in Knock out Final. He was the Gold Medalist of 13th Sindh Games Tenpin Bowling Championship 2010aswell.
Shabbir Lashkerwala (Winner), Rashid Ali (Runners up), Syed Zubair (3rd position) & Aleem Agha (4th position) were the finalist in Masters Single &e Mahmood Ahmed award for the High Scorer 236.
Abdullah Tahir (Winner), Shahjahan (Runners up) , Abid Ahmed (3rd position) and Faizan Tariq (4th position) leaded the tournament in Amateur Single and Abdullah Tahir also awarded for a top scorer 214.
Sindh White stood 1st postions, (Khawaja Ahmed as Captain, Zubair Ali, Naeem, & Abdullah Tahir), Sindh Green was runners-up(Robert as Captain, Shahjahan, Sarim & Mahmood Ahmed) and Sindh Blue got 3rd position in Team event(Naseem Ahmed Qureshi as Captain, Shabbir Lashkerwala, M.Farhan Riaz. M.Abid Ahmed.
The players were awarded with upto 100,000 cash prizes till 10th position in each category along with the prestigious trophies and certificates. The well managed events remained the catch of media through number of channels for significant support.
“I suggest that Sindh Sport Board should provide us the space to open up a bowling Arena in terms of private public partnership . Ijaz-Ur-Rehaman Got Gold Medal in 2nd (IPL)Islamabad Premier tenpin bowling league.

Ijaz-Ur-Rehman from Islamabad won the gold medal by scoring 8795 points in Pakistan's 2nd premier bowling league, which was concluded here at mega zone bowling club f-9 park under the umbrella of the Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation (PTBF) and the Islamabad Bowling Association (IBA) jointly. Saleem Baig took second position by scoring 8738 points and recieved the silver medal in the league. Khalid Butt manage to take third position by scoring 8531 points and won the bronze medal.

The final round of the premier bowling league was played yesterday, where tough and thrilling competition was seen among the players. Afzal Ahktar placed fourth with a score of 7850. Ahmed took the fifth position with the score of 7241 and Ramzan was declared the sixth place winner with a score of 7141.

Speaking to the media at the closing ceremony of the event, Secretary of the Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation, Ijaz-ur-Rehman, said that the experiment of league bowling proved to be very successful, and keeping in view the interest of the bowlers it has been decided that this league shall continue on regular basis.

"Round about 30 Bowlers participated in the league which was played during the month of October. A total 50 Games were played between the players". He concluded.

2nd (IPL) Bowling, Set of 25 games completed.

The 2nd Islamabad Premiere League (IPL) bowling is being played with full enthusiasm here at F-9 Park mega zone bowling club where in 25 games have been completed so far.
Ijaz-Ur-Rehman from Islamabad is on the top with 4401 points and kahlid Butt, from the same city, is in the 2ndposition with 4378 points. Saleem Baig from Islamabad was in 3rd position with 4344 points.
Talking to media persons Secretary Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation (PTF) Ijaz-Ur-Rehman said a total of 60 games will be played during the whole month in which round about 30 bowlers are participating. This league will continue on regular basis and this is an example for other cities to follow the pattern of Islamabad Bowling Association for organizing this sort of leagues.
He said that now 35 games remain and that he hoped tough competition would be seen among the players of Islamabad.
"This league is being played for the hunt of new talent and for the training of new players. This league would help us for selecting the best players for upcoming international competitions." He said.
He further said that federation is taking every possible step to promote the game of bowling in the Country but we need support from the Ministry for Sports, the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), and other relevant organizations.
"Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation (PTBF) has also promoted the name of Pakistan on an International Level. Our two players are participating in the World Tenpin Bowling Champion, which is being played in the France. These are the most excellent players of Pakistan and I hope that they will win the crown of World Championship for their country". He concluded.

Two Pakistani Players to Participate in Bowling Worldcup. 

Two Pakistani Players Mr. Javed Ashraf and Miss. Faiza Zahida would take part in singles and doubles category of 46th Qubica Amf World Tenpin Bowling Championship 2010 which is being played in Toulon, France.
According to Ijaz-Ur-Rehman Secretary Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation (PTF), Federation has send two players for this championship. We hoped that they would show their career best performance and would add stars to the name of Pakistan. He said.
380 players from 120 countries would participate in the world cup where in Pakistan is one of them. Pakistan had also participated in this world cup before which was played last time in Malaysia. He said.

Pakistan green fluttering will be waving among the other 120 nations of the world when green shirts will be featuring in the 46th Qubica Amf World Tenpin Bowling Championship 2010, which will be held from October 15 to 24 at Toulon,France. 

The 46th Qubica AMF Tenpin Bowling World Cup 2010 will be staged at Dream-Bowl Palace, a state-of-the-art 44-laner in Unterfohring, a suburb of the city of Toulon, . The Bowling de Provence centre is located at La Garde, a suburb of Toulon. It is part of one of Toulon’s major sports complexes, which also boasts an ice centre (skating, ice hockey and curling), billiards, a swimming pool, gymnasiums and fitness centers.
Over 380 players from 120 different countries will compete for the gold, silver and bronze medals in Singles, Doubles, Trios, Team, All-Events and Masters Disciplines from October 15 to 24 this year 2010. However, Organizing Committee has closed the entry for the mega bowling competition of the world. Pakistani bowlers will contest in the single and double event of the championship. 2nd IPL Tenpin Bowling 2010 Starts in Islamabad.

Pakistan’s 2nd ever premier bowling league, Islamabad Premier League (IPL) Tenpin Bowling 2010 is underway in Islamabad, on the whole a total of 30 Islamabad bowlers have participated in this league . Which have started from 10th October 2010. In this league final eight bowlers have to play 50 games in one month which shall determine first three positions upon highest score basis.
Ijaz Ur Rehman, Saleem Baig, Khalid Butt, Zafar Iqbal, Alishah, Afzal, Saqib,Ramzan,Atta,MH.chattha and Aftab will play in this event in show their skill.
The set of 50 games shall start from 08th October 2010 in which every week each player shall play one set of 10 games, the winners shall be determined on the basis of high scores. Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation (PTBF) in a joint effort with Islamabad Bowling Association (IBA) is organizing, supervising and controlling this league. PTBF’s general Secretary & spokesman, Ijaz Ur Rehman stated that it was the 2nd ever occasion that PTBF and IBA has taken the initiative to introduce the League bowling in Pakistan, IPL Tenpin Bowling 2010 has already generated a very high level of interest in this sport while in future this would bring together a regular healthy competition in which every bowler would receive an equal opportunity to excel in skill and talent to improve his national standing., PTBF has finalized the steps to organize a National League which shall be played simultaneously in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad on regular basis.

IPL Tenpin Bowling 2010 Ends in Islamabad.

Pakistan’s first ever premier bowling league Islamabad Premier League (IPL) Tenpin Bowling 2010 ended in Islamabad yesterday. In their second set of 20 games each player demonstrated a tough competition for top three positions. In this league final eight bowlers have played a total of 40 games in sixteen days.
On the last day the final positions according to the scores are as follow, Saleem Baig: 7340, Ijaz Ur Rehman 7245, Zafar Iqbal: 6947, Aftab: 6930, Alishah: 6807, Khalid Butt: 6582, while Saqib finished on eighth position with 6537 points, Saleem Baig also grabbed the award for highest scorer in the event with a score of 246 in a single game.
In a statement Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation stated that the experiment of league bowling proved to be very successful and keeping in view the interest of the bowlers it has been decided that this league shall continue on regular basis while the success of this league has also prompted an example for other cities to follow the pattern of Islamabad Bowling Association for organizing this sort of leagues which could prove very beneficial for the growth and promotion of tenpin bowling in the country.

2nd Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Tenpin Bowling Championship 2010 Begins in Islamabad.

Memories of Great People live for ever, their death makes them immortal and so is the case with our beloved leader Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation in order to mark the services and contributions of our ex prime minister organized the 2nd Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Tenpin Bowling Championship 2010 from 20th July 2010 to 25th July 2010 in Islamabad.
The opening ceremony was simple and graceful, President PTBF Muhammad Shuja Khan along with the Chief guest Mr. Syed Aqil Shah Minister for Sport Government of Khyber Pakhtonkhwa entered the bowling arena where a huge number of bowlers and sport lovers welcomed them in a traditional way. Speaking on the occasion the chief guest said that in Tenpin Bowling Pakistan shall see new talent and Government was committed to provide healthy sports facilities to the youth.
The opening ceremony started with the recitation from Holy Quran which was followed by formal introduction of the chief guest with the PTBF officials and players. Children from Islamabad’s schools presented National Anthem while a poetic tribute was presented to the life and times of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto shaheed by a well coordinated orchestra. Present on the occasion President PTBF Mr. Muhammad Shuja Khan, Minister for Food, Khyber Pakhtonkhwa Province welcomed the chief guest in his address and stated that he shall strive hard for the promotion of this sport in Pakistan. General Secretary PTBF Mr. Ijaz ur Rehman briefed the audience about problems and expectation of PTBF and he anticipated that tenpin bowling would be given a due status in country with government’s support and patronage.
Interest in this event grew further as it carried huge cash prizes, keeping alive the custom of the previous events of PTBF this event also accommodated the event for Deaf Bowlers while this year the categories of women deaf bowlers, Female Ameature, Inter Media, Inter Travel Agency and inter Telecommunication were also introduced which proved to generate an extensive interest in the sport beside the regular categories of Open Singles, Inter City and Doubles Events. On the first day the events for Inter media, Inter Travel Agencies, inter Telecommunication took place in which renown telecom and travel companies of islamabad participated.
Oath taking ceremony for Pakistan Deaf bowling association was also a brief part of the first day, chief guest administered the oath to the newly elected sports council of deaf bowlers. It may be underlined that people of all ages flogged the bowling center to watch the matches of various categories showing full interest in the sport of tenpin bowling.
Day Two of the championship accommodated the matches of men’s and women’s deaf bowlers who showed extra ordinary talent and skill, deaf bowlers from Karachi, Multan, Lahore and Islamabad competed for top two positions, Islamabad’s usman narrowly beat Lahore's Zeeshan while Irum Jehan of Karachi secured first position in women's event. Orbit aviation of Islamabad beat Bukhari travels to secure top slot in Inter travel agency category while Ayaz Akbar of Avt Khyber secured top slot in Inter Media competition. The event of Inter Telecommunication was won by Nexcom Communication of Islamabad.
The opening round of Open singles started on 22nd July 2010 in which the entire tenpin bowling community participated to demonstrate their skill. Each bowler had to play a set of five games upon whose total the second rounds qualifications were determined. Ijaz Ur Rehman thrilled the audience and tenpin bowling players by scoring eight consecutive strikes in his second game of the opening five games set by scoring a huge 242, his total score in five games made him to lead Islamabad bowlers with 1027 points finishing with an average of 205 points which so far is the highest by any player in the open singles event matches during this event. M.H. Chatha stands on second with an average of 178 points while Saleem Baig and Alishah of Islamabad shared third place with 176 points.
On the whole a total of 34 Islamabad players participated to complete their matches for the open singles round while the players from Karachi, Multan and Lahore began their journey on 23rd July by playing their first set of five games in the open singles round, the position of open singles round was clear and top 26 players made their way to the second round. Ejaz, Aleem Agha and Lashkar grabbed top three positions in first round and from there on wards to qualify along with 24 others to the second round. Te second round witnessed interesting competitions in which 16 players made their way to third round where top 10 had to qualify for the final round.
Contest for Intercity witnessed the play of four cities i.e. Karachi, Multan, Lahore and Islamabad. Surprisingly veteran Islamabad bowlers Mr. Chatha and Sajid preferred to play from Multan however their team came on fourth while Lahore finished third. Interesting match was seen in between Islamabad and Karachi teams, Islamabad’s team introduced young blood and by and large it was a good decision. Saqib and Afzal proved their selection right and supported the seniors Ijaz, Saleem Baig and Zafar through their breezy performance, Saleem Baigs 223 and Ijaz’s 204 helped Islamabad to beat Karachi in a comfort. Karachi having an edge of seniors like Aleem Agha, Shabbir lashkar and Usman ghani could not face the Islamabad challenge which gave Islamabad the title for the intercity event.
In the Doubles category a total of 20 teams grouped out of which top three teams qualified for the finals, in the final round the team of Mehmood and Naseem competed with Ijaz and Saleem, while Rashid and Ali shah’s team was the third one to lay the final. The team of Mehmood and Naseem surpassed rest of two teams to grab the winner’s title for this category.
The finals for open singles were played amid a huge crowd that gathered in the bowling alley, in the presence of media teams, VIPs and family members the bowlers did feel a nerve while playing for the title, surprisingly most favorites like Ijaz, saleem Baig and Aleem Agha could not make the way to the last ten collapsing in the top 16 round. Ahmed Shekhani, Naeem Shekhani, Shabbir Lashkar, Rashid, Zafar and Naseem were among the Lucky's bowlers who were the part of top 10 finalists.
Malik Mushtaq Awan, Ex Senior Minister PPP and Ex President PPP Punjab was the chief guest while Mr. Liaqat Shabab and Mr. Humayun Khan Ministers of Khyber Pakhtonkhwa were also present. Mr. Tanveer Ashraf Kaira MPA from PPP for Punjab Assembly also made his presence in this event while Mr. Kamran MNA of PPP visited the ceremony for a brief period.
President PTBF Mr. Muhammad Shuja Khan welcomed the guests while the speech of Mr. Ijaz ur Rehman was a very brief and crisp.
Naseem from Karachi had no pressure of playing his first ever final of a national grand slam demonstrated a game that made him win the championship. He secured the first rize of Rs. 100,000/- cash along with a trophy while Ahmed Shekhani finished Second to grab a smart cash of Rs. 50,000/- plus trophy and Mr. Shabbir Lashkar came third to win a cash prize of Rs. 25,000/- Zafar made the only representation of Islamabad in top five by finishing fourth and Naeem again from Karachi got fifth slot.
The event ended with a colourful musical gala followed by a lavish dinner. Players, general guests, media and chief guests enjoyed the musical evening in which the bowlers filled all the colours by their state of art performances in singing.

First Round of Open Singles completed in 2nd Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Tenpin Bowling Championship 2010.

The first round of Open Singles category in 2nd Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Tenpin Bowling Championship 2010 completed in Islamabad. A total of 52  players participated in the opening round of this category out of which top 26 players have qualified for the next round. Interesting matches were seen in this round in which the players from Karachi, Multan and Lahore played their games. According to the final results of this round Ijaz Ur Rehman maintained his un beatable lead and remaind on top in the first round while M. Aleem Agha and Shabbir Lashkar from Karachi demonstrated professional game to finish second and third in the first round..
President Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation Mr. Muhammad Shuja Khan, Minister for Food Khyber Pakhtonkhwa Province, also witnessed this round and issued certificates of participation among the players.
The matches for Intercity and Doubles event are also expected to capture general interest as players from Karachi are all set to give a good fight back to Islamabad.

2nd Mohtarma Benazir bhutto shaheed tenpin bowling Championship 2nd day score.

Usman Khan claimed the Men’s Deaf title of ongoing 2nd Benazir Bhutto Shaheed National Bowling Championship 2010 by scoring 176 points here at F-9 Park Bowling Alley on Wednesday late night.
He displayed excellent skill of the game and earned four strikes during his 10 attempts. Zeeshan Ahmed remained second with 151 points. Iram Jehan from Karachi scored top position in the Women’s Deaf event with 117 points followed by Allyia with 110 points.
Meanwhile, in the Media Event, Ayaz Akbar won the title with 132 points, as he hit five strikes during his maximum 10 attempts. He proved too good for other challengers Naseeb Elahi (110), Raisat Ali (103) and Afzal Javad (100), who remained second, third and fourth respectively.
At the end, secretary, Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation (PTBF) Ijaz-ur-Rehman congratulated the winners and said that PTBF would organise the such type of events in future, as the youth are keen to take part in the bowling event.

July 6 (PTBF News): Over 300 players, including 25 women will participate in the second Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Ten-Pin Bowling Championship to be held at the Mega Zone Bowling Club of F-9 Park Islamabad, said President Pakistan Ten-Pin Bowling Federation Muhammad Shujah KHan on Tuesday. Talking to media-persons at Pakistan Sports Complex he said that the preparations for the championship were at full swing. “Our effort will be to make the event memorable,” The general secretary Ijaz Ur Rehman brief the details of the said Championship and he said that Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation has played a vital role in promoting tenpin bowling sport at national level as well as International.
There will be seven categories i.e. professional singles, professional doubles, inter-city, deaf singles, inter-travel agency, inter-telecom companies and media singles.
The prize money for professional singles will be one lakh ninety two thousand, for professional doubles sixty thousand, for inter-city thirty thousand, for deaf singles nine thousand five hundred and for media seventeen thousand five hundred.
However he said that trophies and certificates will also be rewarded to the winners.

Today is International Sports Journalists' Day. July 2 was the day when, 86 years ago, the International Sports Press Association was established at the 1924 Paris Olympics.

It's a day when the sports journalist should resolve to strive for excellence in his professional work, to seize every opportunity to use sport as a vehicle for good values and world peace, and to be fair and objective in one's reporting.

Muhammad Shuja Khan is Elected New President of PTBF.

Muhammad Shuja Khan; The Minister for Food, Khyber Pakhtoon khawah has unanimously been elected as President of Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation (PTBF) in Islamabad on 25th June 2010 The former president M. Anwer Baig has shown his in availability due to time constraints and resigned the post, consequent upon that new election was held on 25th June 2010 and Mr. Muhammad Shuja Khan was unanimously elected as The President.
PTBF, during the meeting of the managing committee of PTBF expressed his full support and cooperation to the newly elected President and anticipated that the newly elected President should work for the better promotion and development of Bowling in Pakistan.

Speaking at the occasion, General Secretary PTBF Mr. Ijaz Ur Rehman welcomed the new President and said that under the patronage and guidance of Muhammad Shuja Khan, the sport of bowling shall flourish and grow in positive direction, he also emphasized the need of better promotion of this sport through formation of local, provincial and international coordination committees which could groom and nurture the fresh talent in this sport.

Mr.Muhammad Shuja Khan, at this occasion extended his kind consent to become the new President and conveyed his gratitude to the Managing committee for electing him. He assured the members of his full support and patronage for this sport emphasizing upon the need of re structuring of administrative coordination committees for a better operation. Mr. Shuja Khan has also announced to hold 2nd Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Tenpin Bowling Championship in July 2010. The new president has emphasized to arrange workshop with media people and sports journalist to keep all quarters in line with this sports and its progress in Pakistan. The new President of PTBF and the members of managing committee shall also hold a joint press conference on in which further details of PTBF’s operations and future plans shall be unveiled.

Tenpin Bowling officially inducted in 13th Sindh Games 2010.

Sindh Tenpin Bowling Association (STBA) proudly announces that speedily growing Tenpin Bowling Sport has been officially inducted in 13th Sindh Games 2010 by Worthy Sindh Sports Board under STBA management. This would be the officially ranking tournament from 14-16 June 2010 where bowlers will prove their metal for the first time.
We are grateful to Sindh Sports Board Authorities, with special thanks to Mr. Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs, and Mr Hanif Muhammad Merchawala, Director Sports & Youth Affairs as their efforts for development and love to sports has enabled us to enjoy this occasion.
 Romis Ali, General Secretary Said" STBA has been working for development of bowling sport in Sindh as well as in the country since 2004. The present Association Team members confidently lead Mr. Saradr Khan, the President, Mr, Aleem Agha, Senior Vice President, Mr Muhammad Amin Nasir, and Mr. Faisal Ijaz, Treasure are working day and night to boost the promotion of this sport and their first success, to introduce sport at an official platform, will pave the way for its development in befitting manner and it will be marked as milestone in the history of bowling in Pakistan.

Ijaz Ur Rehman is the 4th Islamabad Tenpin Bowling Champion.

Ijaz Ur Rehman beat Sajid Mehmood in the finals of 4th Islamabad Tenpin Bowling Championship 2010 and became 4th Islamabad tenpin Bowling Champion. Ijaz scorred a total of 364 points against Sajid’s 355 in the final games. The event was played on 21st March 2010 here in Islamabad. The championship was participated by all the veteran and young bowlers from Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Saqib claimed third position by demonstrating a very improved game, while Sajid Mehmood made tough challenge for ijaz Ur Rehman in the finals.

In this event an over all number of 56 bowlers participated out of which 16 bowlers were shortlisted on the basis of average scores who played the final rounds. Senior bowlers like M. saleem Baig, Khalid Butt who also became the highest scorer in the event by scorring a highest total of 23e3 in a single game. However the senior bowlers faced tough competition from young bowlers and overall a good atmosphere of competition was created.

Winners were awarded trophies and cash prizes by General secretary Islamabad Bowling Association Saifullah Qureshi was the chief guest at the occasion. Speaking at the occasion he stated that this annual event is organized to groom the fresh talent in competitive environment with the senior tenpin bowlers to strengthen the confidence of the new comers, simultaneously to give them a chance to prove their skills with the senior bowlers, this event would also help to prepare the Islamabad bowlers for many upcoming national and international events.

Tenpin Bowling Granted registered Status, Mir Ijaz Hussain Jakhrani, Federal Minister for Sports.

Government shall patronize and support the promotion of Tenpin Bowling in the country, while all steps shall be taken to provide international standard gaming facilities for tenpin bowlers in Pakistan, this was stated by Mir Ijaz Hussain Jakhrani, Federal Minister for Sports in a meeting with a delegation of Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation (PTBF) here in Islamabad. The delegation lead by Senator (R) M. Enver Baig, President, PTBF, met the federal sports minister to brief about the present status of tenpin bowling the country and the measures that PTBF had taken to promote this sport in the country. Also present at the occasion were Mr. Nasir Munir, Sr. Vice President PTBF and Mr. Ijaz Ur Rehman, General Secretary PTBF.
Federal Minister was briefed thoroughly about the on going activities of PTBF and its preparations to send Pakistan’s team in various international events, federal Minister at this occasion assured the delegation of his full support and cooperation and stated that Government draws a keen interest in the promotion of sports in the country and shall properly promote this sport which is being played in more then 120 countries internationally. Mr. Jakhrani also expressed his deep interest in establishment of more bowling centers all across the country so that the sport could be enjoyed by youth at all levels. He also approved the much awaited registration / affiliation of tenpin bowling federation and granted the body the status of Registered Federation for tenpin bowling in the country. It may be recalled here that Pakistan Olympic Association has already approved PTBF as its affiliated federation for Tenpin Bowling in Pakistan.
Senator (R) Biag thanked the federal Minister for his interest in this sport and assured him that the federation, with the assistance of Ministry of Sports, shall produce world class tenpin bowling players in the country who shall not only represent the country internationally but would also bring back the lost glory in the world of sports for Pakistan.

PRESS CONFERENCE -
Bowling in Pakistan to Excel, No Lack of Talent and Resources.

The much neglected sport of bowling in Pakistan shall excel as there is no lack of talent in this game, we have the players of international level, like other sports of squash, hockey and cricket, tenpin bowling shall also represent the country at national and international level. This was stated by President Pakistan Tenpin Bowling Federation, Senator M. Enver Baig, who was addressing a joint press conference along with Vice President PTBF Nasir Munir & General Secretary Ijaz Ur Rehman on Monday at Pakistan Sports Board.

During the Press Conference, Sen. Enver Baig Praised the efforts of PTBF who in its limited sources not only represented the country at 45th Tenpin Bowling World Cup held in Malaysia last year but the participating player from Pakistan Ijaz Ur Rehman also finished as tenth highest scorer of the event. Reiterating his support in all form for the sport Sen. Baig declared that from year 2010 a new international annual bowling event named “Pakistan Open Tenpin Bowling Championship” shall be inaugurated for national and international players. He emphasized upon the private sector to come forward for the support of this sport by sponsoring various events of the federation, he was optimistic about the Government’s support for the promotion of bowling through allocation of land and assistance for the import of bowling equipment so that our youth could engage in a healthy activity simultaneously fresh talent could also be groomed. Sen. Baig also announced the setup of national bowling training academy for which he was hopeful to receive governments support.

Ijaz Ur Rehman, General Secretary, PTBF speaking at the occasion thanked Sen. Enver Baig for becoming the President of PTBF and expected that under his patronage and guidance the sport of bowling shall flourish, Ijaz also narrated his experience of representing the country at World Cup and stated that it was an honour to play for the homeland. He stated that through proper coaching and provision of facilities Pakistani players were able to win international events. Ijaz also announced that PTBF shall hold a joint workshop with RISJA (Rawalpindi-Islamabad Sports Journalist Association) for creating awareness about this sport at national level.

Mr. Nasir Munir, vice president, PTBF thanked all the press & media for their support and patronage for bowling and expected that media shall play its role in making this sport popular among the youth of Pakistan. He empathized upon the setup of professionally managed bowling alleys in the major cities of Pakistan where international gaming facilities could be made available. He was of the view that PTBF shall not only safeguard the interest of bowlers in Pakistan but would also help and assist the bowling alley owners in all technical forms for proper maintenance and equipment enhancement if required by them.

Afzal Akhtar Wins 1st IBA- Amateur Monthly Bowling Championship

Afzal Akhtar of Islamabad won the First IBA- Amateur Monthly Bowling Championship by beating Ahmed Taufique in the finals of Islamabad Bowling Association Amateur Monthly Bowling Championship which were played in local bowling alley on 17th January 2010. This is the unique monthly event which has been organized by Islamabad Bowling Association in order to take practical measures for the promotion and support of Bowling in the city.
In this event an over all number of 38 bowlers participated out of which 12 bowlers were shortlisted on the basis of average scores. In the final of this event the top favorite Ahmed Taufique faced a professional challenge from the new comer Afzal Akhtar who in spite of losing the first game came back in a challenging manner in the second game and availed a victory lead of 10 points upon Ahmed Taufique in final game.
President Islamabad Bowling Association Mr. Ijaz Ur Rehman was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony. Speaking at the occasion he said that identification, grooming and encouragement of fresh talent in the bowling was the sole purpose behind such event which shall take place on regular basis every month.
He highlighted the role of IBA in the promotion of bowling in the city and said that the through the efforts of IBA fresh talent can represent the country upon national and international level, he appreciated the skills of new comers and assured them of complete support and training facilities through professional bowlers. In the end the winner and the runner up contestants were awarded cash prizes and trophies.
